Safe House is a high tech, high energy thriller set in 'Control', a British government agency, tasked with stopping an imminent terrorist attack. When two government agents are held hostage and one is executed live on television, the team must race against time to prevent the death of their other colleague and stop the terrorist attack which threatens the security of the country. With heavy on stage video interaction, the show promises to be visually unique and absolutely gripping. Safe House made it's debut at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe at theSpace @ Surgeons Hall (Venue 53), Grand Theatre, from the 23rd to the 28th August 2010. The show was well received, gaining 3 and 4 star reviews, with audience members describing the experience as 'a slick, well-balanced, fusion of theatre and film' and 'very ambitious with excellent exploitation of video and off-stage sound'. "Few Fringe productions deliver as slickly-constructed an experience as Safe House", "Safe House is a technically-impressive work which ticks all the boxes of its chosen genre", "A stonker of a play", "The quality of the video was exceptional, right through to the moment when, in place of a curtain-call, the end credits roll." (Extracts from FringeGuru, review by Richard Stamp, 26th August 2010) Broken Pipe Theatre is now looking in to taking the show on tour.
